MIDA is a 40 sqm café in Hammersmith, designed to bring the warmth of Tunisian culture into a contemporary London context. The project focuses on creating a strong identity within a compact space, offering an inviting and immersive experience.
A red striped awning defines the façade and creates a strong connection to the street, while inside, natural materials and earthy tones establish a warm and timeless atmosphere. The layout maximises efficiency with continuous bench seating, flexible tables, and an open kitchen that enhances customer interaction.
Subtle references to Tunisian design — through arched forms, textured surfaces and woven lighting — are interpreted in a clean, contemporary way, resulting in a characterful yet understated neighbourhood café.
